Doug Chenault – MyClicknation FounderDoug is an experienced direct marketing services professional with 20+ years experience working for Acxiom, Experian, ArtistDirect and Hyphos360. Doug’s first 10 years at Acxiom were in technical roles where he was responsible for designing, building and supporting large scale marketing solutions. This was followed by 5 years of account management where he led teams that were responsible for the management of strategic accounts in the Media vertical. In 1999 he joined ArtistDirect network, an internet startup that focused on providing marketing services to the music industry where he was Director of Database Marketing. Doug’s last 5 years at Acxiom and subsequent roles at Hyphos360 and Experian were in Sales and Business Development where he was responsible for growing top line revenue for the company by bringing in new logos. His client list includes: Walt Disney, Paragon Casino, Telescope (managed voting for shows like American Idol), Rodale, Bookspan, Columbia House, Conde’ Nast, PRIMEDIA, Ziff Davis and BMG. Charles Weir – MyClicknation CEODuring his twenty-five years in business, Charles Weir has worked with many leading Fortune 500 companies. He was Managing Director of Retail Markets for Harte-Hanks, Inc. through January 2008. Retail Markets has been Harte-Hanks largest industry vertical since the company went public in 1993 and provides strategic marketing services to most of the top Retail companies in North America. Prior to joining Harte-Hanks in 2004, he successfully started and led a marketing services consulting firm with a focus on consumer industries. His client engagements included business strategy & planning, client development, and sales effectiveness in addition to projects with several venture capital firms. Charles was formerly Acxiom Corporation’s Group Leader for Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods. Prior to joining Acxiom, Charles completed a fifteen year career at IBM Corporation. In addition to his management responsibilities, he provided leadership within the Distribution and Retail Industry. While at IBM, he completed Harvard Business School’s Certified Client Executive program in 1992. Charles is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He resides in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Don Hinman – SVP – Epsilon Data ProductsDon Hinman is the Senior Vice President for Product Development for Epsilon Targeting. In this role Don leads the product development and product management functions for Epsilon’s data products including the Abacus Co-op. Don is often referred to as “Dr. Data” due to his experience and expertise known across the industry for the creation and use of external data in database marketing applications. He is past Chair of the Direct Marketing Association’s Committee on Ethical Business Practices. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation. He is a frequent speaker for conferences and seminars in the direct marketing, CRM and database marketing industries. Previously, he was the Executive Vice President and Senior Principal for Allant Professional Services. Don led product development to help leverage Allant’s Predictive Intelligence engine, strategic and analytic services and marketing automation capabilities that enable marketers to execute acquisition, growth and retention strategies. He has also served as the Group Leader for InfoBase Products at Acxiom Corporation. In that role he led the product management of Acxiom’s data centric products, including InfoBase consumer and telephone enhancement, list products, and analytic and segmentation products. Don was also the Data Content Group Leader in the Data Division at the Acxiom Corporation. Prior to joining Acxiom in October 1994, Dr. Hinman was Vice President and Performance Group Manager for The Lifestyle Selector Division of National Demographics & Lifestyles Inc. in Denver, CO (now Equifax DMS). He was responsible for Product Development, Management and Improvement of direct marketing lists and segmentation/modeling services. Prior to joining NDL in 1984, Dr. Hinman was Manager of Marketing Research Services at Arbitron Ratings Company, where he produced custom market analysis for radio and television stations, cable systems and advertising agencies. Don received his Ph.D. in Mass Communication Research from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) in 1979. His dissertation was “Factors Relating to Salesperson Productivity at Small Market Radio Stations.”
Ray Everett-Church – Managing Member PrivacyClueCalled the “dean of corporate privacy officers” by Inter@ctive Weak Magazine, Ray Everett-Church is an internationally recognized expert on privacy law and Internet-related public policy. Joining the infomediary firm AllAdvantage.com in 1999, he became the world’s first Chief Privacy Officer, creating a position that would be hailed as one of the most important privacy developments of the year 2000. Since then, many companies – including IBM, Microsoft, Bank of America, AT&T and American Express – have followed suit, appointing their own chief privacy officers to manage their privacy issues.
Julie RoehmJulie Roehm is currently consulting for a host of companies in a new media and marketing capacity, particularly in the area of marketing strategy and execution. The companies include large media companies, ad agencies, interactive television technology companies, financial services, private equity, media start-ups and others. Ms. Roehm was most recently the Sr. Vice President of Marketing Communications for Wal-Mart Stores. Here she helped to establish the marketing organization and to lead the agency review. Prior to this, Julie was the Director of Marketing Communications for Chrysler Group with responsibility for all branded communication efforts for the Chrysler, Jeep ® and Dodge brands. Ms. Roehm’s responsibilities include media purchasing and creative; auto shows, branded events, sponsorships and partnerships; interactive media and gaming, customer relationship management, merchandising and licensing, and dealer advertising association communications. Ms. Roehm has been lauded for her successful efforts in moving the marketing industry’s perception and consciousness regarding media mix and stale industry practices, particularly as it pertains to the media buying and selling process where she proposed a new market driven process based upon the NASDAQ system. In 2004, Julie was named as the Marketing All-Star for 2004 by Automotive News, Automotive Marketer of the Year by Brandweek and Working Mother’s Top 25 Women of 2004. This was succeeded by an initiation into the AAF Advertising Hall of Achievement for outstanding performance in the field of marketing and advertising to executives under 40 years old. In 2005, she was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame and was noted as a Top 100 Most Influential Women in the Automotive Industry. Also, in November of 2005, Chrysler was named Interactive Marketer of the Year by Ad Age, under Julie’s leadership. Finally, in 2006, Julie was named as runner-up Corporate Media Executive of the Year by the Delaney Report and was awarded with the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business “Distinguished Alumni” award.
Gary SchmidtGary Schmidt has over 25 years experience using technology to deliver solutions for the direct marketing industry. Using his experience as both a vendor and a client, Gary has brought innovative ideas to the process of finding the right solution for direct marketers across all channels. He began his career at Marketing Electronics Corporation as the principal developer of products and services. He continued his career with MEC as the organization expanded services and clients to become Metromail Corporation. While with MEC Gary pioneered software techniques used in merge/purge, postal qualification, change of address, list rental fulfillment, and large volume database marketing. Upon leaving Metromail Gary established a consulting firm specializing in direct marketing solutions working with clients Time-Warner, Hewlett-Packard, Chase, and Bertelsmann where he established several successful large-scale Marketing Database implementations. Building on his services background and applying it to the client viewpoint, Gary joined BMG Direct where he focused his attention on the e-commerce arena and its potential for marketing, managing the successful implementation of two major e-commerce Web sites as well as being responsible for the operation of the direct marketing support group. In 2002 Gary joined with the other founders of Hyphos360 as Vice-President to develop a unique marketing services organization focused on finding strategic and technical solutions for direct marketers. As CTO & VP/Professional Service, he was responsible for developing matching technology, database management, and high-speed counting applications as well as overseeing the implementation and delivery of direct marketing solutions to key clients such as Columbia House, Sears, CWS, and BMG. As General Manager, he expanded those responsibilities to include responsibility for Sales and corporate P&L. In the fall of 2006 after leaving Hyphos360, Gary was a consultant to the owner of Alvion Technologies and along with partners Robert Sher, Richard Trenkmann, and Vil Ezerins, purchased the company serving as President until September 2008 when the company was purchased by Acxiom Corporation. |
